How ratings work

Nobody rates players by hand. Every card is calculated from what pros did in real matches over the last 12 months and from the prize money they won. The same formula runs for everyone.

Last rating run Sat, 07 Nov 2026 03:22:33 GMT · 372 player cards · 59 coach cards · 18,770 player maps used

Step 1

Collect the stats

Every finished match of the five leagues (EML, NAL, SAL, APL, CNL) and every international event comes from the official Ubisoft esports site: kills, deaths, opening duels, plants, defuses, clutches, trades, KOST and more, for every player on every map.

Maps that fail a plausibility check (for example kills and deaths that do not add up) are left out. Recent maps count more than old ones: a map from four months ago counts half as much as one from today.

Step 2

Turn stats into six attributes

AttributeMeaningBuilt from
AIMGunfightsKills per round, K/D, headshot rate
ENTOpening duelsOpening kills per round and opening duel win rate
UTLUtilityPlants per attack round, defuses per defense round, KOST
CLTClutchClutches won per clutch chance and per round
IQGame senseUbisoft performance score (EPS) and survival rate
TMPTeamplayKOST, trade kills and deaths that got traded

Each attribute is ranked against all pros with at least three maps (346 right now). The best become the highest numbers, the weakest the lowest.

Step 3

Be careful with small samples

Three great maps do not make a star. Every attribute is pulled towards a cautious starting value until a player has enough maps: with 20 maps a player is half stats, half starting value; with 60 maps the stats clearly dominate. Players without any maps start slightly below average.

Step 4

Account for league strength

Stats against weaker opponents are easier to get. So every league is measured by how its teams do against teams from other leagues at international events, and its players get a bonus or a penalty.

LeagueMaps wonWin shareAdjustment
EML88 of 15257.4%+1.5
NAL78 of 13856.1%+1.2
SAL78 of 13955.7%+1.1
APL41 of 12334.6%-3.2
CNL8 of 3429.5%-4.3

Leagues with few international maps are pulled towards 50% so a handful of results cannot swing them too far.

Step 5

Add prize money

Career prize money from Liquipedia makes up 20% of every attribute. It is compared on a logarithmic scale, because a few players have won millions and most have won thousands. Players without recorded prize money are rated on stats only.

Step 6

Spread the ratings

All attributes are then stretched by the same factor so the average card lands at 74 with a spread of about 6 points. That keeps roughly half of all pros at Gold (75+) and the rest mostly at Silver. In the last run the raw average was 75.5 and the stretch factor 0.90.

Step 7

Weight by role

OVR is the weighted sum of the six attributes. Entries need aim and opening duels, supports need utility and teamplay. The weights in percent:

RoleAIMENTUTLCLTIQTMP
Entry30355101010
Flex251515201510
Support10535101525

The role comes from Liquipedia. If Liquipedia lists none, each team gets its missing Entry (most opening duels) and Support (most plants per attack round), the rest are Flex.

Step 8

Coaches

Coaches have no player stats, so their card is built from their team. The team's map win rate over the last 12 months (recent maps count more) is pulled towards 50% until it has enough maps, then adjusted by the same league strength as above.

That result is 70% of the coach rating, career prize money is the other 30%. The coach pool is then spread to the same average of 74 and spread of about 6 as the players.

Step 9

Icons

Only world champions become Icons: everyone who won the Six Invitational as a player or coach and no longer plays for a team in the game. Former players who now coach or cast count too. Coaches who won it as coach and have retired get a coach Icon. Right now that is 22 Icons.

Their OVR runs from 86 to 95. Career prize money counts 50%, Six Invitational wins 25% and all tournament wins 25%, each ranked among the Icons. Their attributes follow their old role, so an entry Icon has the best aim and opening duels.

Step 10

Tiers and walkouts

Gold from 75 · Silver from 65 · Bronze below 65. A walkout in a pack is any card rated 84 or higher and every Icon. Ratings are recalculated every six hours while the game is in development.
